The Cabin & Zoo

This picture is pretty deceiving. He looks content and happy, but he hated having the life jacket on. Surprise, surprise, he just wanted to get down and walk around.
Just to prove, that indeed I was in Little Rock. We celebrated me b-day early.

At the zoo, w/ the chimps.

Hunter admiring one of his favorite animals-shee. (Sheep)

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate when we went to the lake. We were on the boat for a short time but cut it short due to the bad weather. We did stay a couple of nights at the cabin, and it was so nice to be away from the city nestled in the coziness of the cabin in the woods. We had such a great time and again, miss you guys so much.

Happy Father's Day!

One of the great joys in being a parent is watching your spouse as a parent. I could never have imagained I would have found such joy in watching Nathan be a father to Hunter. I love to watch them play together on the floor. I love to hear the laughter from Hunter that only comes when daddy is playing with him. I love to see Hunter run to the door when I tell him daddy is home. I love that Hunter only takes balls to daddy so they can play together. Already I can see so much of Nathan in Hunter and I'm so grateful for that. What a privilege to raise sons in the Lord. What a blessing to know that my sons can look to their father who will point them to our Father.

Happy Father's Day Nathan! We love you!

Down in Little Rock

The "H" cousins.
A big thanks to "Cherry" as all the cousins call her for leaving camp for a couple of days to come visit us. Thanks for driving Linds!

This was such a sweet moment. Hunter gave Bapa the longest hug.

Hunter was obsessed with these beads. He had to have them in his hand.

We just got back from a week in Little Rock. We hadn't seen the LR crew since Christmas. We packed our days full of fun things. Thank you Mimi and Bapa for a wonderful trip. We loved seeing you and wished we lived closer.

It will probably take me a few days and posts to complete our fun trip.

18 months!

I can hardly believe that my baby is 18 months old today! He is becoming more independent everyday, which is fun to watch. Don't worry though, there are plenty of times that he still needs his mama, and for that I'm grateful. Hunter's favorite things right now are Starbucks "Star", trees and trucks. He feels a strong need to point out every tree and truck he sees, whether in a book or outside. He loves reading his books now, which is great since he is a teacher's child.

I haven't taken any "chair" pics since his 12 month birthday (click here to see how much he has changed). He loves to "rock-rock" in the chair, so pictures were a breeze. However, he wasn't so cooperative outside as he feels the need to be on the move. That is his motto in life right now. He has inherited one of my favorite traits from Nathan- a passion for life. May he continue to have a passion for life and live it to the fullest as we are ALL called to do!

Take me out to the ballgame

Hunter went to his first baseball game this week. He was amazed by all the people and desperately wanted to get on the field. His favorite part was the bull. He kept saying cow and pointing the the huge bull in the outfield.
Scott is in the picture above with Nathan and Hunter. Scott and his wife, Sarah, are moving this summer. They moved here the same time we did for Sarah to go to law school at Duke. We've all hung out but Nathan and Scott see each other very frequently. I'm so thankful for their friendship and especially for the encourgament. We're going to miss you Sarah and Scotch-Tape!!

Laurie and David's Wedding

She was just radiant and full of joy!

Gorgeous Grandfather Golf and CC. What a pefect setting and beautiful weather.

This was perfect for David and Laurie. Games on the lawn! I must say that Nathan and I DID beat Laura and Frank TWICE in baggo. Not that I'm competitive or anything.

Our housemates for the weekend.
Colemans, Scholls, Leondards and Rietzs

Congrats to Laurie and David Martin!! They were married this past weekend in the mountains. We had such a great weekend. We were without our {oldest} child for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We stayed with several friends in a condo and just enjoyed the setting, the amazing weather and great company. I'm so happy for both Laurie and David. Thanks for allowing us to come celebrate with you.

Hunter stayed in Durham with my family. This was the longest we have both left him. It was refreshing to have "adult" time. I just couldn't wait to hug him tight when we arrived back. Thanks Mom, Dad and Michael for taking great care of our boy!
