Congratulations to Lindsey and Michael! Lindsey graduated from Wheaton with her degree in French and Secondary Education. Michael graduated from NC State with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. They both graduated the SAME weekend :( so we only have pictures from Michaels. When I get pics from Linds, I'll post them!

Strawberry Picking
On Monday we went to pick strawberries. Hunter was much more concerned about walking down the rows and looking at the dog that was there than picking strawberries. Hopfully one day in the near future, he will learn to love strawberries. We had strawberry shortcake for dinner last night and it was delicious!!

Mother's Day
I had seen this poem when I was pregnant with Hunter. I liked it then, but after being a mom I totally understand things that I didn't understand before. One of my favorite things is to go look at Hunter every night before I go to bed. He is so peaceful sleeping. What a privilege to be a mom. I always knew I would love being a mom, but I could not fully realize the joy it brings me unitl I was a mom. Hunter, I love being your mommy!
Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom.

Julie and Ted's Wedding
Ha! The "classic" wedding pose!
Julie and Ted's wedding was outside on a farm south of Charlotte. It was an amazing setting, a perfect backdrop for a wedding. They were married under the huge tree that you see in the picture above. It was a perfect spring afternoon and evening with only 10 minutes of showers to rid the air of the mugginess. I'm so happy for you Julie!
Wedding Weekend
This weekend we went to Charlotte for Julie and Ted's wedding. Julie and I were roommates (along with Laura and Laurie) in Charlotte from the summer of 02-03. We lived in the Bevis house and called our house The Real World. Oh, if I had time to share some stories. Laurie shared a great story at the rehearsal dinner. I love you girls! I was great to hang out and laugh together again.
Hunter was SUCH a trooper this weekend. A huge Thank You to Evan and Kim for watching Hunter on Friday night and Saturday afternoon and evening. You guys are the best!
