a Princess party

The boys decided to throw me a little princess party for my 33rd birthday. Nathan took the boys to the store and Hunter picked out tiaras, princess plates, a banner, and balloons. The boys were so excited all day and could hardly keep their surprise until that evening. We ate at my favorite local pizza place and then went to our county fair. That was quite a treat- the boys had a blast and the people watching was incredible. We came home and had cookie cake and the boys gave me their gifts.
Thankful for 3 boys that think I'm a princess and for our newest little princess. God is good.

fourth of july

Our July 4th in Durham included a trip to our favorite museum, climbing in an ambulance, dinner at Elmo's Diner, and an end to a great day at the park. Despite the fact that Nathan wasn't in the pictures, he was there. He drove down to spend the 4th with us in Durham.

Sip 'n See

Last weekend, two sweet friends at church had a sip 'n see for Linden. Linden slept almost the whole time which was perfect. I'm so sad I didn't get any pictures of my friends that graciously came, I was too busy talking to everyone. My mom was able to come which was quite a treat. It was great for her to meet our new church family. We feel very loved in our new community.

granny meets linden

One benefit of going to Durham when we lost power was our visit with Granny. She got to meet Linden when she was 3 weeks old instead of 2 months old. This is Granny's first great-grand-daughter. She is most definitely in love.

mimi & bapa

Mimi and Bapa came to visit when Linden was born. It was wonderful to have their help around the house, with Linden and with the boys. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at a new (to us) German restaurant, Edelweiss. We can't wait to see yall again soon.

One month

Alright, I will try to refrain from saying it every month, but where has this last month gone? We had my family in, Nathan's family in and a few nights by ourselves. Then our power and water were out for 6 days from the east coast storms so we headed to NC to see my family. Linden made her first 4 hour road trip when she was 3 weeks old and did amazingly well. She also got to meet Granny which I didn't think was going to happen so soon.

I just took her to the dr today and she has gained just shy of 2 lbs! Wow- that was fast! She is 21.5 inches tall. Poor thing has thrush right now, so hopefully it will heal quick. She is sleeping great at night but has been pretty fussy during the day. She will be on a schedule one day soon when we get in a rhythm, however I know since she is the third child, I will use the word schedule loosely.

Daddy

Obviously Father's Day was a couple of weeks ago, but considering I had a 10 day old I was a bit distracted. I am beyond blessed that my kids are blessed with Nathan as their dad. He has spent much time with the boys lately since Linden was born. He's also so great with Linden and is always willing to walk her. Thank you for making so many sacrifices for our family and leading us well.

Linden update: Why did I write that when her stomach bothers her, it quickly goes away. Should have just kept that information to myself :) At night especially she seems to have a colicky time. Of course our other 2 kids had colic and couldn't have dairy, we just thought maybe, hopefully Linden would be different. So, no more dairy for me starting tomorrow. We will see if this helps our precious girl to be pain free.
