Christmas

Hunter saw his big surprise: a bike!

Christmas Eve

Going to bed, getting ready for Christmas day! Christmas Eve dinner is a big deal in the Scholl house. We have a Swedish Smorgasbord. Many people are curious about what we eat. My personal fave is the homemade Swedish meatballs. We also have fruit soup, rice pudding, pickled cucumbers, herring (yuck!), limpa (rye bread), different cheeses and for dessert: the famous almond dessert and the best pepparkakor cookies. The meal is delicious and I like celebrating in a unique way.
The kids get to open one present before they go to bed. I just love this tradition.

Christmas at the Capital

Before Christmas we went to the capital building in downtown Little Rock. It was beautifully decorated and the capital itself is stunning. We went with Mimi and Bapa and Hannah and Hayden.

Family in LR

We were in Little Rock for Christmas this year. What a great time we had with our family there. Hunter and Andrew were fully entertained by their cousins and aunts. And of note: we survived our first really long road trip with 2 young ones.

Christmas.

One of my favorite things we did this year was the Jesse Tree. A Jesse Tree is an advent calendar that has 25 ornaments and it tells the story of God's salvation through the Old Testament. It starts with creation and all the stories lead up to the birth of Christ.
It's so neat to start thinking about new traditions that we want to start with our kids. Some tradtions are new to both of us and some are old traditions from our families.
Praying that at the center of our time with family, delicious food, decorations and giving gifts, that we will remember the One who humbled himself and took on flesh to dwell among us.

Merry Christmas

Cookies

All 3 of us had fun making Christmas cookies this year. Hunter is like his mommy and wants to eat the dough.

Gingerbread house

Hunter decorated a gingerbread house with us last weekend. The kid who loves candy could hardly resist eating all of it.

Congrats!

Lindsey and Peyton are engaged! Peyton asked Linds to be his wife on Wednesday night. Welcome to the family pey-pey, you couldn't have picked a better wife. They are planning a summer wedding which we are already looking forward to. Love you both!

Frankies

Last week we went to Frankie's-Chuck E Cheese on crack as my husband says. The boys had a blast! The favorites were the racing games and basketball.
