Happy Thanksgiving!

Hunter is most thankful for his paci!
We had a wonderful thanksgiving. We spent the day with my family and extended family. We have been so blessed, but certainly our greatest blessing this year is Hunter. He has brought a tremendous amount joy into our lives, so much joy that we couldn't even have imagained. Children are truly a gift from the Lord.

First Hair-cut

Before: the proof he needed a hair-cut.

Hunter was doing an excellent job trying to be still.

The end product- I think he likes it!

We loved Hunter's long hair, but decided that it was definately time to cut it. It was in his eyes and a lady at Target asked us how old "she" was. That did it. Nathan held Hunter and away went the hair. Hunter does not like to be still, so it was a bit of a challenge-his hair is slightly crooked. The hair-cut was successful and he looks so grown up.

11 months

What a big boy! Hunter is really beginning to communicate with us. He likes to grunt when he wants something. He is saying mama and dada (we are so excited), bye and hey. He loves to wave bye-bye to daddy in the morning. We are excited to celebrate a BIG birthday next month!

Duke football

On Saturday we went to the Duke/NC State football game. We met Michael at the game. The outcome was not what we had hoped for, but Michael was quite excited. Hopefully this will be the first of many Duke sporting events for Hunter. He enjoyed listening to the band and people watching.

Mimi and Bopa

We are so thankful that Nathan's parents, Mimi and Bopa, came for a visit. It had been quite a while since they had seen Hunter. They enjoyed seeing all of his new "tricks" and of course playing nimble-namble. They arrived before Halloween and were able to see our little lion and help us pass out Halloween candy.
We ate at fun restaurants while they here including Mimi's favorite, Foster's, where she even got to talk to Sara Foster. We took them to Elmo's & Locopops (for those paying attention, I had mojito this time). The weather was superb and the leaves were stunning which meant it was a perfect day for Duke Gardens. Hunter was fascinated by the ducks and I couldn't think of a better place for him to watch them than on Bopa's lap. Thank you for flying out to see us. We miss you already and can't wait to see you soon!

Halloween

Hunter was a lion this year for Halloween. While Mimi and Bopa stayed home and passed out candy, we went trick-or-treating. We also got to see our favorite little monkey, Finley. We had a great Halloween and look forward to future ones where Hunter will get just as excited as Nathan to get candy.
